Terry Mikeska is encouraging local knitters and crochet buffs who would like to make a cap for children in Nepal to drop off their handiwork at the Peppercorn Grill restaurant by Feb. 25.

Mikeska will be taking the caps along on his third aid mission to Nepal in March, which aims to supply solar-powered lighting units to remote locations.

He said that last year some anonymous donors contributed more than 40 knitted caps, which he was able to hand out to needy children in the villages he travelled to.
