A time to reflect on blessings

Thanksgiving. A time of feasting. A time of family gatherings and food comas. And perhaps most importantly, a time of reflection.

We often give thanks for the warmth of our homes or the love of our families, but rarely have we felt the desire to give thanks for having food at all or surviving through the winter. It is by the grace of our nation and our selfless citizens that we enjoy such commonplace freedoms.

Not all, however, are so fortunate. In fact, one of your very own selfless citizens, Terry Mikeska, has seen firsthand those who take nothing for granted on the account of having “nothing at all.”
